Jeremy
Hois (Romeo) Jeremy is a junior
at Mt. Lebanon High School. This
is Jeremy's fourth appearance
at Prime Stage Theatre. He played
Ponyboy in The Outsiders,
Jem in To Kill a Mockingbird,
and Asher in The Giver.
Recently, he played John Reed
in Pittsburgh Irish and Classical
Theatre's production of Jane
Eyre. His acting career began
at the age of 7 with the Chautauqua
Theatre where he played in Macbeth,
All My Sons, and A Midsummer
Night's Dream. He also has
appeared in over 20 commercials,
videos, voice-overs, and print
jobs for The Talent Group. Jeremy
represents his high school's Forensics
Team and plays oboe in the Pittsburgh
Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Andrew
W. Huntley II (Prologue, Prince
Escalus) Andrew is thrilled
to be making his Prime Stage debut
with Romeo & Juliet.
He graduated with his Bachelor's
in Entertainment Design in 2009,
and since then his work has been
seen throughout the region in
both in front of and behind the
scenes for theatre and film. Onstage
he has been seen at the Pittsburgh
New Works Festival as Damien in
The Murder Boys, as Theseus
in A Midsummer Night's Dream for
Open Book Productions and Frederick
Treeves in The Elephant Man
for South Park Theater. Behind
the scenes, Andrew has designed
sets for Shadyside Academy (The
Importance of Being Earnest, Guys
and Dolls), worked as a puppeteer
for the Pittsburgh First Night
Parade, directed Romeo &
Juliet for Theater San Serif,
and crewed such films as The
Road, Smart People, The Bridge
to Nowhere, and The Mysteries
of Pittsburgh. His solo act,
Bad Magic has appeared
twice at the CLO Cabaret, and
he has performed as a myriad of
characters for several Renaissance
fairs. Andrew also enjoys fencing,
learning random trivia, and treasure
hunting.
Thomas
A. Kolos, Jr. (Tybalt) Romeo
& Juliet continues Thomas's
relationship with Prime Stage
as a performer and marks his second
collaboration with Director Lora
Oxenreiter. Previous roles include
Darry Curtis in The Outsiders,
Miles Tuck in Tuck Everlasting
(with Director Lora Oxenreiter),
and Konrad in Jack and Rochelle.
Thomas was chosen as a favorite
performer by the Tribune Review
in 2007 for his portrayal of Nick
Cristano in McKeesport Little
Theatre's Over the River and
through the Woods. Thomas
has studied acting under Rich
Keitel, Phil Winters, and Mary
Rawson and is a voice student
of Dean Kokanos. Thomas is the
brother of Singer-Songwriter Paul
Kolos and is engaged to actress
Catherine Gallagher.
Jenna Lanz (Juliet) is
thrilled to be making her Prime
Stage Theatre debut in Romeo
& Juliet. She performed
in her first regional show this
December in Pittsburgh Irish and
Classical Theatre's production
of Jane Eyre as Child Jane.
A member of Act One Theatre School,
Jenna has performed in shows including
Honk, Seussical the Musical,
Narnia, The Wiz, Godspell,
and most recently, Oedipus
Rex as Jocasta. Other productions
include Bye Bye Birdie and
Beauty and the Beast at
North Allegheny Senior High School
where she is a junior. She'd like
to thank her supportive family
and friends, Lora Oxenreiter for
the wonderful opportunity, and
the cast and crew of Romeo
& Juliet.
Ken
Lutz (Montague) Ken is a retired
Pittsburgh Public Schools music
teacher. His professional pursuits
have included acting at the American
Conservatory Theatre, Pittsburgh
Playhouse, and CLO, announcing
for WQED-TV, and conducting the
McKeesport Symphony Orchestra
and Carnegie Civic Symphony. Being
active in theatre and music, Ken
plays clarinet in the East Winds
Symphonic Band and the Edgewood
Symphony Orchestra. His recent
acting roles include George Spelvin
in The Actor's Nightmare
for Proudly Presents Productions,
Weller in Grand Dream Productions'
The Gin Game, Charles Thomson
in 1776 with Artscape,
and Dr. Dorn in The Seagull
for Wooden Rocket. He is delighted
to return for his sixth production
with Prime Stage, having performed
the role of Robert E. Lee Ewell
in To Kill a Mockingbird,
Candy in Of Mice and Men,
Frankland and Perkins in The
Hound of the Baskervilles,
Juror #9 in Twelve Angry Men,
and Prof. Willard and Constable
Warren in Our Town.
James
Masciovecchio (Abram, Apothecary,
Watchmen) James is currently
a junior at Point Park University.
His previous Pittsburgh credits
include Leo Davis in Room Service
at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, 1st
Officer in Roberto Zucco with
Phase 3 Productions, and Last
Year's Raymond Laine Memorial
One-Acts also at the Playhouse.
Karen
Merritt (Nurse) returns to
Prime Stage where she previously
played Mrs. Soames in Our Town
and Irena in the world premiere
of The Music Lesson. Other
roles include Hermione in The
Winter's Tale, Cambia in Shrew!,
Luciana in Comedy of Errors,
Olga in Three Sisters for
Unseam'd Shakespeare Company,
Alex in On the Verge for
Promethea Company, Shelby in Steel
Magnolias at Pennsylvania
Center Stage, Maggie in Twilight
for Pittsburgh New Works Festival,
Margaret in Quilters, Marilla
in Anne of Green Gables,
and Essie in You Can't Take
it With You with Saltworks
Theatre Company. Also at Saltworks,
Karen had the opportunity to present
in dramatic form the biblical
books of Ruth, Jonah and Mark,
with the goal of encouraging audiences
to read these inspirational texts.
Karen holds an M. F. A. in Acting
from Carnegie Mellon University
and the Moscow Art Theatre School,
where she portrayed Kvashnya in
The Lower Depths and Hecuba
in The Trojan Women. Karen
is married to Brian and together
they thoroughly enjoy all the
excitement associated with having
three sons, Clarke, Dean and Keith.
Ben Palmer (Paris, Sampson)
Ben is thrilled to be making
his debut at Prime Stage with
such a fine and dedicated ensemble.
Ben most recently starred alongside
Matthew Faber in Richmond Burton's
POV, an abstract meditation
of the dealings of the art world
due out late 2010. An Acting Major
at Point Park University, Ben
has been seen previously in two
Playhouse Jr. productions of Charlotte's
Web and A Year With Frog
and Toad. Coming to Pittsburgh
from Chicago, Ben played leading
roles in several productions including
Hedda Gabler, Drive Angry,
Macbeth, Loyalties, Noises Off,
and Marred Bliss.
Christopher
W. Pate (Benvolio) is a graduate
from Freed-Hardeman University
in Tennessee. He recently moved
to Pittsburgh to pursue the many
acting opportunities here. Of
all types of acting, performing
Shakespeare is his favorite. One
of his most recent and favorite
Shakespeare productions was Macbeth
in which he played Macbeth. Some
of his favorite roles include
Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast,
Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop of
Horrors, Treplev in The Nina Variations.
His career goal is to be a member
of a Shakespeare company and work
as a Shakespearian actor. He currently
plans to go to graduate school
so he can teach theatre.
Adam
Pribila (Mercutio) Adam is
pleased to be making his Prime
Stage debut in Romeo &
Juliet. His New York credits
include Giancarlo in Heads
of State at the Access Theatre;
and Philip, the King of France
in The Lion in Winter at
The Bleeker Street Theatre. Regionally,
Adam has played Piper in Rock
n' Roll at The Studio Theatre
in Washington, D.C; Romeo in Romeo
& Juliet and Orision in
Twelfth Night at Shakespeare
Theatre of Northern Virginia;
Benedick in Much Ado About
Nothing at Winchester Little
Theatre; as well as Bun Foo in
Thoroughly Modern Millie,
Yulnick in Little Me and
Peron/Ensemble in Evita
at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre.
Locally, Adam played Kenny/Ben
in Open Stage's production of
The Mineola Twins and Man
2 in Songs for New Work
at The Theatre Factory. Adam,
who holds a BFA in Acting form
Shenandoah Conservatory., is also
an award-winning journalist with
associated Collegiate Press.
Adam
Rutledge (Lord Capulet) is
enjoying his third production
with Prime Stage Theatre (and
his third Romeo & Juliet!);
he has previously played Juror
No. 5 in Twelve Angry Men
and Steve in The Outsiders.
Other Shakespeare credits include
Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the
Park's Love's Labours Lost,
Twelfth Night and Macbeth;
Poor Yorick's Players' Two
Gentlemen of Verona, Romeo
& Juliet and A Midsummer
Night's Dream; and Romeo
& Juliet ACE Theatre's
(Houston, TX). Adam is an Advanced
Actor-Combatant with the Society
of American Fight Directors and
an apprentice stunt performer
with the United Stuntmen's Association.
Allison
Wagner (Lady Capulet) Allison
is thrilled to make her debut
with Prime Stage Theatre in Romeo
& Juliet. Other Shakespeare
credits include Hermia in A
Midsummer Night's Dream and
Williams in Henry V. She
earned a BFA in Theatre from Clarion
University where she received
the Robert Copeland Fellowship
for Outstanding Theatre Major
and an KCACTF Irene Ryan Nomination
for Claire in Proof. As a teaching
artist and tour actor, Allison
has been blessed to work with
students from Tacoma to Miami.
She is happy to be back in Pittsburgh
once more and currently teaches
drama in Manchester. She will
play Rosalind in As You Like
It at South Park.
Drew
Weinstein (Gregory, Balthasar)
Drew has performed in various
shows at his high school, Pittsburgh's
High School for the Creative and
Performing Arts. These shows include
CAPA's performance of The Jungle
Book, You Can't Take it With You,
The Odyssey, and The Chris
and Alex Show. Drew has also
competed in the Pittsburgh Public
Theatre's Shakespeare scene and
monologue contest, making it to
the finals. Drew also performed
in a public reading of Incubus
at the Pittsburgh Public and in
The Sound of Music at the
Theatre Factory in Trafford PA.
William
Yanity (Friar Laurence, fighter)
This is William's second performance
with Prime Stage having previously
played Lord Craven in their production
of The Secret Garden. Locally
he has performed in The Seagull
for The New Group Theater, Waiting
for Godot for Wandering Ramen
Players, Nathan the Wise
for Thoreau, NM, and in Open Stage's
productions of See Under: Love,
The Canterville Ghost,
and Pera Palas. He has
performed twice for the Pittsburgh
New Works Festival in Chai
and Ukimwi
