The High School Drama Awards are designed to reward excellence in high-school drama for non-musical productions: one act or full length. We will accept participating schools on a first come, first served basis. The production must be completely student run, and each student must be directly responsible for that department’s activities. Because all positions involved in producing a stage production are important, our award categories include both backstage and onstage roles.
We hope that you will join us in bringing recognition to the students who work so hard to bring drama to their audiences. By doing so, you will also be helping to keep drama alive in our schools and on our stages.
If you would like more information about the Drama Awards please complete the 6th Annual High School Drama Awards Interest Form.
Drama Award Teacher Feedback
The Prime Stage High School Drama Awards has increased student participation in our Fall Play activity along with student engagement and commitment.
The Drama Awards has extended our Fall play season well beyond our closing show and we hold a very productive student/leader production meeting well into the winter as we plan for the upcoming fall. Your feedback has become a feature of that meeting. This is the only occasion when they will hear formal professional feedback on their fall play production/performance - Fox Chapel
Thank you for all that you do to further theatre education. Our students are so excited about work they can do on the production end. I have never seen this before in my nearly 30 years of working with high school students. I thought it would be difficult to find enough of them interested. Instead, we added a show because they wanted the opportunity to do a full length play. It’s a lot of extra work, but worth it to see them dive in so deeply - Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
