Prime Stage Theatre and Ruggles were recognized for their continued efforts to develop and present audio described performances that bring literature to life for audiences in the Pittsburgh area.

On both days of a recent winter weekend, director Ricardo Vila-Roger sat behind a desk in Prime Stage Theatre’s West End studio reviewing headshots and resumes and watching intently as dozens of professional Pittsburgh actors auditioned from script sides that featured dialogue in both English and Spanish. There was no language barrier, though. Like Vila-Roger, all the actors were Latinx in one form or other.
